I’m excited to introduce my Health Counseling practice, Eat Clean Be Happy! While it’s been coming to life over the last year, my quest to find and put feet on the idea of Eat Clean Be Happy, has been a been a bit longer of a life journey……
As with most of us, my major in college moved around a bit. I focused on Physical Therapy, then Occupational Therapy. I thought about nursing, for a fleeting moment (I’m a huge germ freak, this was too much contact with the patient!). These varying majors in medicine and related fields stemmed from a desire to help people heal, become a more whole person, and do the things in life they enjoy. Somehow though, I graduated college with a business degree – a far cry from where I started out! I’ve spent over 10 years in a variety of industries and roles in the “corporate world”. This time has provided me with invaluable experience, a deep array of skills and knowledge but most of all irreplaceable relationships!
So while my career to this point may not have been spent pursuing my passion, it has brought me to where I am today. I’m ready to jump head first into health counseling, passionate to help others discover a healthy lifestyle, in their way, that works for their lives!
The legs began to grow on my passion just over a year ago, when a friend and yoga instructor told me before yoga class about Health Counseling at the Integrative Institute of Nutrition. I couldn’t wait to get home and look it up (no focus in yoga that day!). Once I googled it, I was hooked. It was THE avenue to health I’d been searching for – combining all aspects of life, and walking with others on their journey to discover wellness. I enrolled in the next available class and began the year long program of learning a variety of diet theories, counseling techniques, and nutrition. As the year progressed, I continued to be convinced and excited this was the path for me! The approach of individuality and personal wellness aligned perfectly with my passion and desire to coach others to achieve a healthy lifestyle .
Now, here we are, course complete, certification in hand, several clients, and the “official” launch of my career as a Health Counselor, with Eat Clean Be Happy!
I’m grateful to see this dream come to life and I’m looking forward to how God will use Eat Clean Be Happy! to bring us healthier lives!
